RUCKUS Review

RUCKUS is the latest movie from Agressive Instincts Productions and Mike Crichton. Overall, it's a good movie. It showcases moguls and park skiing mostly but is totally missing any big mountain skiing.

First let's start with the downsides. Crappy film quality. But hey, what do you expect for $10 bucks? Second, there aren't enough angles used in the shooting. Changing the angles at which the film is shot could great improve the film. Third, too much bump skiing. Bump skiing is important, but in this case, there's a bit too much. Fifth, the way they organized the skiing wasn't that great. I like how they did it by resort and they showed each skiers name every jump. However, I think there should be a few feature sections for people who appear frequently (ie. Dave Crichton, Simon Berard, Mike Crichton, etc.). Sixth, not enough funny shit and no nudity. I'm still in disbelief that there aren't any hot naked chicks. Seventh, no big mountain skiing. Not a single cliff dropped nor a single powder turn made. But what do you expect from Ontario and Quebec?

Enough of the bad stuff. Let's start with what's right. First, the price. You can't get a better bang for your buck. Second, it showcases many amateurs and unknowns who will soon be breaking onto the scene and making a name for themselves. Third, the skiing is of a high quality. Despite coming out mid-season (which is when people only begin to huck), some damn good tricks are laid down. Rodeo's, misty's, lincoln's, and even a 1440 are thrown down. Fourth, it has a super good soundtrack. Punk all the way. Fifth, it's got a good crash tape. When you see Rex and Miles bail, it's just a feeling of ouch. What I've never EVER seen on tape though is two people collide into each at high speeds. I've always wanted to get that on tape... And bar fights. Sixth, Mike is a cool guy and we should all support him and buy his video. Seventh, watching it will make you think "I can do that". So you will go out, try some dumb shit and probably stick it even (in the secret clip, some kid does a switch back, takes off way too early, barely misses scrapping his head on the jump, yet still lands it. Amazing. Go forth, buy the movie and learn some tricks.

Overall, a good movie, easily worth the money. 7/10. Order Your Copy Today!
